FOLSOM BLVD COALITION MURAL

This was a team project where our goal was to design a mural for the Folsom Blvd Coalition to be installed on the intersection of Howe Avenue/Power Inn Rd and Folsom Blvd. The purpose for the mural was to bring attraction to new members of the community, beautify the spatial environment, promote economic development, and to increase safety on the surrounding premises of a PG&E substation. As a team, we created visually compelling messages and storytelling visuals that would attract target audiences such as commuters, residents of the neighborhood, and people who own or work at local businesses. Knowing this information, we collaborated as a team and incorporated graphic representations of Sacramento and the progression of its technological history adhering to client’s needs for a focus on Sacramento’s transportation, industry, and technology in the mural.

The mural consists of 15 panels and we each divided them among each other. I designed the last three panels showcasing the Sacramento lit up city in the night sky highlighting technological innovations such an electric vehicle and an airplane.
